Skip food to reduce weight

·

Do you need to get rid of overweight? If yes, you can skip a meal or two.

Sounds good right? But ask one more question yourself, is it good for you?

Well, the answer is not good for you at all. It’s correct that we need to be in a calorie deficit to reduce weight, but skipping meals is not a good option as this will

I will explain my experience on this:

I was fat during my childhood and early adulthood due to overeating and my body type. Yes, it’s easier for me to gain weight and very difficult to lose it. I weighed 90 kgs when I was 14 and was obese. So, I realized that I needed to lose weight somehow. The method I chose was simply to skip meals and decided to skip lunch. I followed this plan for 3-6 months, and I could see that my weight was reducing, which made me really happy.

But I suffered later, after almost one year. See what I faced as a consequence of my decision to cut the lunch:

  • Dizziness
  • Acne
  • Lack of concentration on studies
  • Less energy

So, why did this happen? Skipping lunch caused a serious nutritional deficiency because my mother used to include a lot of vegetables in my lunch, which my body had been missing for a long time.

The takeaway

Skipping a meal is definitely not a good idea, as it can lead to nutritional deficiencies. Some people might experience issues immediately or later on. Learn more about nutrition in my upcoming blogs.
